The Garmin Zumo 550 has a "fuel guage" feature that pops up an alert (and list of petrol stations) when you're getting close to the mileage-per-tank figure you've entered. Not perfect, and you need to remember to reset it after you fill up, but it's better than nothing.

Corni Adventurer. It's so strange why there is much deviation on these bikes and maps when it comes to fuel consumption. I have 2009 990 and with original mufflers I had ~42mpg average. When I changed mufflers to wings with small inserts and still original map without resetting ecu or whatsoever, it run 38.5mpg.
Here's my take: Pros: 1: quick starting cold or hot. 2: stable idle cold or hot. 3: improved mileage. 4: improved emissions. 5: automatic mixture adjustment for temperature and altitude. 6: vertically mounted throttle body would allow use of an under-saddle fuel tank (lower CG like the 650 Dakar))
